The Movement Disorders Team is committed to providing wholistic and longitudinal care of patients with movement disorders and undergoing surgical treatment for movement disorders.  This includes outpatient clinics, inpatient care at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, and our Nurse Navigation services and Movement Disorders Hotline.

We offer specialist care for Neurological Movement Disorders including:

  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Essential tremor
  • Dystonia and dystonic tremor
  • Drug induced movement disorders
  • Ataxia

  • Genetic movement disorders
  • Undiagnosed or rare causes of movement disorders

Research

The Movement Disorders Team participates in international and local clinical trials for Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.  If you are interested in participating in research, then please let you Doctor know during your appointment.

    • Monday afternoon: Movement, Cognition and DBS programming clinics
  • Wynnum-Manly Community Health Centre, Gundu Pa, 20 New Lindum Rd, Wynnum west QLD 4176
    • Friday all day: Movement Disorders Clinics

Please call the Princess Alexandra Hospital switchboard on (07) 3176 2111 and ask to be put through to the Neurology Outpatient Department.

Patient referrals

To refer patients to the Movement Disorders Clinic at the Princess Alexandra Hospital pleae access the online referral hub. Please note that we are only able to see patients that live within the Metro South catchment area.
