It's an exciting time for Logan Hospital's Maternity Services with the imminent arrival of our new bundle of joy – the new Birthing Suites.

The Birthing Suites will feature birthing pools providing the option for water immersion and birthing for the first time at Logan.

The pools feature LED lighting and bluetooth functionality to simulate a homely and comfortable environment for our women and their families.

The teams are undertaking a number of activities to ensure all staff are trained and ready for its arrival. Some of the readiness and preparation activities underway are:

• Birthing pool patient handling evacuation
• New isolation room training
• Medical gas alarm refresher
• New clinical equipment training including pyxis
• Familiarisation tours and so much more.

Logan Hospital's new Birthing Suites are part of our Maternity Refurbishment Project and are due to go live in the coming weeks.
