QEII Hospital’s latest milestone in the Expansion Program was achieved this week with doors opening to the new Allied Health and Ambulatory Care Services building on Monday 22 July.
QEII Hospital is set to receive a new $127.44 million multi-level car park to boost parking capacity ahead of the $465 million QEII Hospital Expansion.
Local Member for Toohey Mr Peter Russo and Member for Mansfield Ms Corinne McMillan joined hospital staff and patients to officially cut the ribbon opening the new 28-bed ward at QEII.
QEII staff, executives and community members gathered on-site to celebrate the commencement of site works on the hospital’s modular Allied Health and Ambulatory Care building on 7 September.
140 more beds will be delivered on Brisbane’s southside in a $465 million major expansion of the QEII Hospital, and a $25 million acceleration project, as part of the Queensland Health and Hospitals Plan - the largest investment in new hospitals and new beds in the state's history.
A traditional smoking Ceremony was held on 15 October to affirm the way forward for the QEII Hospital Expansion Program as the hospital campus heads towards a brighter future.
QEII Medical Records have just wrapped up the mammoth task of moving over 300,000 medical records from both the primary file location and secondary storage facility, making way for further expansion of the hospital.
